Introduction

Plantaserve E, also known as Euxyl® PE 9010 or Preservative 12, is a widely used broad-spectrum cosmetic preservative. It is especially favoured in natural and clean-label formulations due to its paraben-free and formaldehyde-free composition.

  • Phenoxyethanol: 90%
  • Ethylhexylglycerin: 10%

• Thermal Stability: Can withstand temperatures up to 120°C during production.
• Solubility: Soluble in water and alcohol bases; limited solubility in water (~1% at 20°C).
• Appearance: Clear, colourless to pale yellow liquid with a mild odour.
• Usage Rate: Typically used at 0.5% to 1.0%; the maximum recommended level is 1.1%.
